Georgia Chamber Updates Businesses and Local Communities on COVID-19
Chamber works with Anthem to Communicate Member Cost-Waiver for Virus Testing
The Georgia Chamber is supporting a fact-based approach to the COVID-19 public health and economic challenge, emphasizing hard data, to keep the Georgia economy moving.
“We encourage elected officials, local school systems, governments and businesses to follow the lead of Governor Brian Kemp,” said Georgia Chamber Chairman and Delta EVP Peter Carter. “His coordinated, steady-handed engagement is an example for all Georgians, and we join him in asking the public to refrain from alarm and false information. Fundamentally, Georgia remains open for business.”
As part of its continued strategy to support a strong economy, the Georgia Chamber – together with SMART healthcare plan partner Anthem – announces that the leading healthcare insurance company will waive member costs for COVID-19 testing.
“Anthem’s decision to waive fees for testing of the virus is to be commended,” said Chris Clark, Georgia Chamber President and CEO. “With this waiver announcement as well as their support of telehealth and a 90-day maintenance medication supply, Anthem demonstrates the essential example of corporate leadership to properly addressing COVID-19 concerns for employers and Georgians across the state.”
